    As usual I can't find a video that will address my problem so I'll have to take mine to a shop and pay through the nose and have it repaired mine is a 1998 Sears LT1000 I ran over and obstacle I damaged something now the lever that lowers and raises the deck stays up and it won't go down

    Thanks for this video. My mom has this exact mower, and info about it is scarce, to say the least. Still don't know the valve clearance specs, so a lot of trial and error. Also, I was wondering roughly how far back you bent that tab linked to the governor arm?

      @@RealManSkills hahahahaha!!!!! I figured thats what happened lol. Thats funny dude! And thanks for replying. And that video was 12 years old? Wow... i liked your video alot. I just finished a 5hp yesterday myself. My rototiller popped last year, and nothing was reusable. The engine was a 1979, and i rebuilt a 1992' block which was in awesome awesome shape. But i rebuilt it anyway. Not one single scratch on the cylinder, or the crank and rod. Its amazing how that aluminum cylinder can ware out those rings like they were and not even have a ridge. So anyway i put all the parts off that 79 onto the 92 block and it runs amazing. Love those engines

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking this guy nor any other person's videos I've seen of them working on small engines and equipment. I just have one question: Why don't you all clean up the equipment or area that you're going to be working on BEFORE you even start working on it??? Maybe it's a pet peeve of mine ,but I can't stand working on something that is caked with dirt, oil, and grease. Anyone's equipment I work on, including my own, I clean up the area that I'm going to be working on before I even start. Makes the job a heck of a lot easier.

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills 15 днів тому

      There were no clamps on the vacuum line. The lower part of the vacuum line gets inserted into the valve cover, no clamp necessary. I do not have a video of lubing the cables. However, I use "3-in-one" oil to lube cables. It's a slow process. I hold the cable upright and slowly drip the oil into the cable housing. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video! I just attempted to sail my puffer for the first time, and it was a terrible experience for me. As soon as I sat down in the boat, I felt like it was going to capsize. I weight about 220 lbs, and thought I'd be okay because it's rated for 450 lbs I believe? It was truly scary. Is your centerboard made of wood, or heavy steel? Mine is wood and I'm wondering if it originally came with something to give it some ballast.

    Well great but lawn tractors now need the clutch in....some one of the PROPER weight on the seat and usually one of your legs must be behind your neck before they will start. Then ANY tractor I have worked on either you beat the rim to pieces or go buy a 100.00 puller to get the tire off......maybe....a 40% chance then. One thing FOR SURE...WE NEED MORE PEOPLE CALLING FOR SAFETY......

    Donyboy73 says the way to avoid rust in the tank is to store it for the winter with a full tank and add stabilizer. I plan to try it. I might add that ethanol free gas would be the way to go. Your method of attaching the bottom support of the tank first, then the governor spring looks a lot easier than the way I was doing it as the spring kept coming off.
